If you are interested in the Ankarsrum mixer, but still have questions, here is a selection of the most common questions we receive.
Is it only good for kneading bread?
No. You can also make sponge cake doughs, cookie doughs, shortcrust pastry, muffins and other pastry doughs. You can do the same as with a conventional mixer.
What is the MAXIMUM amount that you knead?
For bread doughs, we recommend not to exceed 3.75 kg. For denser pastry doughs you can reach up to 5 kg.
What is the minimum amount you knead?
We have tested it with 400 grams of waffle batter and it works perfectly. With less dough, it starts to knead less well.
I have seen that the manufacturer recommends pouring the liquids first, why?
At El Amasadero we mix all the ingredients directly and it works very well for us. We have decided to recommend this way of doing it and not the one indicated by the factory because we prefer to base it on our own experiences.
Does the arm with the roller have to be fixed?
No! The arm is tilting and should be able to move. It should be slightly tightened, but not so tight as to try to keep it fixed.
Can it be washed in the dishwasher?
The metal mixing bowl, scraper, rolling pin, mixing sticks and plastic bowl can be washed in the dishwasher.
How do I get the 7-year extended warranty?
As soon as you receive the mixer, fill out this form on the manufacturer's website to get the 7-year warranty.
I would like to see it in person, is it only available online?
We have just brought it to Spain and, for the moment, it is only sold online on our website, although our goal is to sell it in physical stores.
As we are able to place the kneader in other stores, we will complete a list of stores where to see it.
Is it normal that the arm with the roller does not stay fixed when I knead?

How do you knead highly hydrated doughs?
Our recommendation is that you knead at low speed, with the steel hook, for 10-12 minutes.
How do I correct the small friction between the metal hook and the steel bowl?
On the swing arm you will find a screw that you can tighten to correct the rubbing.
